Dust Mite Covers - Why Bother?
Somewhere between 50 to 60 million people in this country suffer from allergies. I find it hard to belive that only 1/3 of them have covered their mattress and pillows with dust mite covers. A dust mite cover is one of the most effective tools available in controlling dust mite allergies.
People are aware that dust mites favorite place to live, breed and die is in our mattress. They feed on our dead skin, they poop and then die and leave their tiny little bodies. All this time they are stuffing your mattress full with feces, body parts and more dust mites.
Many times you can not get doctors to agree on a diagnosis, but most, Allergist, ENT, Cardiologist, Immunologist, will agree that covering your mattress and pillows with a dust mite cover works. A covered mattress prevents dust mite and other allergens from being released into the air.
Even if you don't have allergies to dust mites or antything else, covering your mattress is a good idea. Dust mite covers keep your mattress and pillows clean and smelling so much better. When they get dirty you can wash them. It's hard to wash a mattress.
Ever pick up an old mattress that never has never been coverd with a dust mite cover or anything else? It was heavy and smelled I imagine.
Someone with a dust mite allergy are reacting to the allergens found in the feces and dead dust mite parts. A dead dust mite is just as bad as a live one. These fabrics will protect you and your family from dust mites and other allergens. You will find the price for a queen mattress cover will be about $68 depending on size and what fabric you choose. The micro-fiber material dust mite covers will cost more but will be more comfortable especially for hot sleepers.
People really should cover their mattress, pillows and comforters with dust mite mattress covers. If you have allergies or suffer from asthma or COPD dust mite covers are a must.
