Their Axion Polymers Division handles the reprocessing of post consumer plastic waste. The Eco-friendly UK plant handles the "Green" manufacturing and production development for products made from 100% post consumer waste; which includes the recycling and reprocessing of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
WEEE was incorporated into European law in 2003; mandating recycling guidelines on all electrical product waste. There is also the Axion Consulting Division and the Axion Engineering Division. Their services help other companies with the development of their products by combining Axion Polymers advanced formulas, technologies and engineering expertise along with the raw materials gathered from post consumer plastic waste; all in an effort to create a specified "Green" material that will suit the design of their client's products. The Axion Engineering Division works with companies from the design of their processing plants to their machinery selections. Axion Energy is another Division that concentrates on converting waste biomass into fuel.
Axion Polymers won the Chemicals Northwest Environmental Technology for the Chemical Industry Award; recognizing their Eco-friendly and "Green" advancements and initiatives with providing quality products using sustainable clean technologies in their recycling methods and their continued commitments to reducing their carbon impact. Axion Polymers is the UK's largest reprocessing and/or recycling plant; while also being the most advanced Eco-friendly reprocessing plant in Europe.
Axion Polymers has successfully taken the left over materials that they have reprocessed using 100% post consumer plastic waste and developed their own award winning "Green" product line of polymer compounds known as Axpoly®, along with Eco-0friendly polymer sheets known as Axfoil®. The materials that they use in their products can also be incorporated into many other product lines either in whole or in part. Axion has recently expanded their Axfoil color line offering an extensive color range; which increases project options for consumers and commercial uses. Axfoil is also available in rolls that vary in size and width offering the versatility for an unlimited range of Eco-friendly implementations.
Axion Polymers has hosted a long list of "Green" accomplishments with their advancements, technologies and Eco-friendly projects. One of their many interesting and innovating Eco-friendly projects has produced a revolutionizing new "Green" product that is catching a considerable amount of public interest. The product line is a furniture product line made from coffee-grind post composite. It all started with Axion's unique "Green" technological development for the London based industrial design and product development enterprise, "Re-worked".
Experts from Axion Polymers developed the "Green" formula and Eco-friendly technologies that collected, recycled and reprocessed post-consumer retail coffee-grind and plastic waste. The precise combinations of these recycled materials, blended with WEEE, created a whole new coffee lover's delight with Re-worked's Eco-friendly product line of "Curface" (pronounced Surface). Curface is a revolutionizing "Green" material; which is a hard and versatile polymer sheeting and carries a faint coffee aroma. Re-worked has introduced their new Eco-friendly product line this past spring at Ecobuild 2010 by presenting their "Green" table and chair designs constructed from their new revolutionary product.
