• If feathers are not straight you can straighten them with lighted light bulb. You may gently run the feathers over the lighted bulb as heat coming out of light bulb will help in straightening the feathers but do take care and don’t lay much pressure on quill as it may damage the feathers.
• Trim the feathers with a pair of scissors and give them a gentle curve tip shape very much like a butter knife.
• Lay out feathers such that they are slightly overlapped until center feather is positioned properly.
• To make a handle you can either take a wooden stick or make handle from cardboard. If you are thinking of wooden stick handle then take care to smoothen its surface with sandpaper and you can shape it according to your need.
• Cut the top of the wooden stick and cut it in small sticks depending on the number of feathers you are using and on each small stick glue the feathers.
• Take two chopsticks and now gather the fan together in between the chopsticks and tape the end of chopsticks so that opens in a semicircle.
